Whether you’re a seasoned boss babe or just starting out in your entrepreneurial endeavors, there’s one thing you need to do that will keep you accountable while ensuring your creative juices continue to flow: join a female mastermind group. Or two. Or FIVE.
When starting Carried Away Creative Co., I quickly learned I needed a virtual support group of some sort. Most importantly, one filled with encouraging fellow female boss babes to keep me going. Because, let’s be honest, starting your own biz is not all sparkles and unicorns and puppies.
It’s hard work. And it’s easy to get discouraged when you’re a one woman show working out of your home office. So, I set off in search of the perfect group to help keep my creative spirits UP. The good news – there are TONS of great groups out there!
Let’s ring in the new year and cheers to our goal-getting mindsets by joining forces with fellow boss babes & joining one (or ALL) of these groups!
ONE | Think Creative Collective.
Emylee & Abagail give off some serious #bossbabe vibes. Not only do I love them because they are constantly sharing fresh resources for freelancers & business-minded women, but also because they call KC, my hometown, their home too. Since joining their FB group not even a month ago, a fire has been lit under my bootay to make my biz the best it can be. These ladies give you the motivation, tips, & resources you need to SUCCEED at turning your passion into a profitable biz. Join their squad here.
TWO | Little Black Desk Society.
Come 2017, this group – founded on enhancing “excellence and leadership in small business” – will offer various memberships (hurry & reserve your place in line now!). The group is dedicated to celebrating fellow female entrepreneurs’ successes. It also offers up advice to any of your questions or challenges. Basically, it’s the wing woman you’ve been looking for to help throughout this exciting adventure as a girl boss! Until memberships are available in the new year, you should definitely join their squad here.
THREE | Learn. Collaborate. Flourish.
This community, hosted by Maria Bayer (a serious boss babe), offers a place for creative entrepreneurs everywhere to come together & learn from one another so they flourish in their personal and professional lives. If you join their FB group (which, without a doubt, you should), you can look forward to “Collabordates,” monthly Lunch & Learns, & a whole lot more! Join their squad here.
FOUR | In Gear Career for Military Spouses
This group is specific to all the milspos out there (and not only for females). But nonetheless, it’s important to share. Wives and husbands of service members are often on the move every few years to wherever their loved one is stationed next. This factor makes it extremely difficult to have a career. But, it doesn’t have to be that way! There are so many resources out there to truly empower military spouses in their professional lives. I’m a huge fan of In Gear Career! Currently, the organization has more than 22 local chapters throughout the U.S. and Europe. And these chapters have FB groups you can join, based on your location, offering a forum for professional development, advice, & support for the many career challenges faced by milspos.
FIVE | Milspo Member Mastermind
I’ve met some absolutely inspirational military spouse entrepreneurs through this group, brought to you by the Milspo Project! And, since joining, I’ve also been introduced to a slew of meetups and milspo entrepreneur conferences that are on my list. If you’re a military spouse who believes entrepreneurship is a unique answer to the military spouse unemployment crisis, you better believe you want to join this welcoming circle ASAP. Through peer accountability and the power of community, this mastermind group is creating thriving businesses and achieving rockstar goals. You MUST, however, join the Milspo Project first before unlocking membership for its online Facebook mastermind group. At a small investment of $27, you’ll get access to workshops, the book club, monthly workbooks to enhance development, and overall, connections with other military spouses on the same journey as you.
